Profile

Pelumi Olugbenga is an energy and environmental policy consultant. He obtained his bachelor's degree in History and International Studies from the Lagos State University.  He later proceeded to the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs in the United States for his Master’s in International Development where he pursued a major in Energy and Environment and a minor in Cybersecurity, Policy, and Law.  As a graduate student, Pelumi served as the President of the Pan-African Graduate and Professional Student Association, and an Editor of the University of Pittsburgh (Pitt) Policy Journal.

Professionally, Pelumi has worked both in Nigeria and in the United States. He worked as a Project Manager for the US State Department Diplomacy Lab Research Working Group on South Africa at Pitt. Pelumi also served as a Graduate Student Fellow for the Center for African Studies at the University of Pittsburgh and interned with the City of Pittsburgh’s Sustainability and Resilience Division.

He currently works as a Sustainability Policy Consultant for Qhanu Inc - a tech company that focuses on software development, e-commerce, and augmented reality.

Pelumi strongly believes that there is a nexus between policymaking and shared global prosperity. In his views: “The right policies can shape the lives of millions of people”. This is at the core of his passion as an energy and environmental policy consultant - who spends most of his time thinking about how to collaboratively design and implement policies and strategies that can improve standards of living and make our planet a safer place for all.

When he is not reading articles on energy and sustainability issues, Pelumi enjoys going on adventures, traveling, praying, and watching documentaries.
